South Africa's motor industry is again calling on the government to legislate cleaner, more high-tech - but potentially more expensive - fuels. Toyota SA's president and CEO Johan van Zyl, who is also Naams's president, said: "The steps were welcomed by the SA motor industry but we cannot allow the progression to cleaner fuels to stagnate'We cannot allow the progression to cleaner fuels to stagnate'."
