Nissan unveiled its new 2009 Maxima at the New York International Auto Show, seeking to restore the vehicle's place in the company's lineup. Last year, Maxima sales fell from 70,000 in 2006 to 52,574, 25 percent decline, as some buyers shifted to a V-6 version of the redesigned Altima, the company's flagship vehicle.
