The head of Volkswagen has laid out, with fervour, Europe's biggest automaker's future under the guidance of Porsche and called it "the start of an entirely new era" though it is one that unions reject. VW chairman Martin Winterkorn appeared convinced that the growing power of its main shareholder would allow the group to fulfill a dream - that of becoming the world's leading automaker.
