Volkswagen was said to be planning to cut up to 2,400 jobs in Western Europe, but it would increase the workforce at the main plant in Wolfsburg. The carmaker said that it planned to cut significantly the capacity of plants in Belgium, Spain and Portugal as well as to reduce production.
