General Motors will make the new Opel Meriva at its Figueruelas site near Zaragoza, in northeastern Spain, dashing the hopes of Gliwice, Poland, GM Europe's chairman Carl Peter Forster said. GM made the decision after assessing that it would require less investment and following an agreement with unions on flexible work schedules.
