New car sales in Europe reversed 2.8 per cent last month, dropping in four of the five biggest markets despite an intensifying price war and a raft of fresh models. Weak showings in the UK, Spain, Germany and France eclipsed an upturn in Italy and ensured overall car sales extended October's drop of 2.6 per cent amid consumer reluctance to splash out on new vehicles.
