Volkswagen AG has more than tripled its third-quarter profit as cost-cutting and rising sales in France, Germany and Spain offset a more difficult U.S. market. Volkswagen said third-quarter net profit climbed to 282 million euros from 76 million euros, with revenue up 12.6% to 23.86 billion euros and operating profit rising 49.6% to 586 million euros.
