General Motors is serious about taking on the competition in Southeast Asia with a multi-pronged strategy that could give Japanese and European rivals a hard time. It has recently launched the Chevrolet Lumina sedans in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, to penetrate the top end of the market with prices of Bt2 million to Bt4 million. The competition against Japanese brands is more obvious in the mid-sized sedan and MPV segments, where GM has launched the Optra and Zafira models.
